CJP, other SC judges grieved over martyrdom of civilians in Indian attacks
Judges expressed resolve that the SC stands in solidarity with the affected families and the nation
ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi, along with all the apex court judges, on Thursday held a formal condolence session to express profound grief over the martyrdom of innocent Pakistani citizens in a brutal and unprovoked attack by the Indian Army.
The judges offered Fateha for the departed souls and extended their heartfelt condolences and deep sympathies to the bereaved families, acknowledging the profound pain and sorrow caused by this inhumane aggression.
They prayed to Allah Almighty to shower His infinite mercy upon the martyrs, elevate their ranks in the hereafter, and grant strength and patience to their families to endure this tragic and irreparable loss with courage and dignity.
The judges expressed the resolve that the Supreme Court stands in solidarity with the affected families and the nation, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to justice, human dignity, and the protection and sanctity of innocent lives.
Meanwhile, the reconstituted National Judicial Automation Committee (NJAC), under the chairmanship of apex court Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar has resolved to accelerate the digital transformation of Pakistan’s judicial system.
A meeting was held in the Supreme Court, the committee unanimously resolved to develop a performance monitoring dashboard for judiciary.
The committee comprises tech-savvy judges from the Supreme Court, Federal Shariat Court, and high courts, as well as key representatives from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MOITT), National Information Technology Board (NITB), and Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan (LJCP).
Additionally, the committee decided that the MOITT will conduct a comprehensive site survey of the Supreme Court and high courts to propose a framework for video conferencing facilities for virtual hearings.
These surveys will be undertaken within a week to assess infrastructure requirements. The chairman emphasised the need to enhance courtroom acoustics and upgrade audio systems to enable seamless, echo-free communication during proceedings.
This initiative is aligned with the broader vision of ensuring accessible, efficient, and technology-driven justice delivery for all, says a press release issued here by the SC Public Relations Department.
