‘Blocking of Bilawal’s X account in India’: India panicked by PPP chief’s bold stance on Modi’s warmongering: Sherry
Sherry says former foreign minister has always been a strong, credible and clear voice for a just peace, especially for Kashmir
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has described the Indian government’s move to block party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s X account as retaliation for his unequivocal and bold stance on the Pahalgam incident, which he raised before the international community to expose the “Butcher of Gujarat”.
PPP Vice President and Parliamentary Leader in the Senate, Senator Sherry Rehman, said India’s action indicates extreme panic in New Delhi’s official circles as the gapes in their anti-Pakistan narrative become wider each day.
Senator Sherry Rehman said the former foreign minister has always been a strong, credible and clear voice for a just peace, especially for Kashmir, adding that “when Pakistan or its rivers are threatened, he becomes like his legendary grandfather, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto -- the true voice of the people of Pakistan”.
She said with no face-saving options left, and no evidence to offer for weaponising water against Pakistan, India should focus on presenting evidence instead of resorting to censorship.
While Pakistan People’s Party Parliamentarians’ (PPP-P) Central Spokesperson, Shazia Marri, said the PPP strongly condemns the Indian government’s decision to block the X (formerly Twitter) account of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari in India.
“This action reflects the Indian government’s desperation and fear of the truth,” she said. Shazia Marri said Bilawal Bhutto has exposed the “Butcher of Gujarat” Narendra Modi before the international media and the world.
“No matter how much the Modi government tries to suppress the truth, it will find its way, and the true face of the Indian government has become clear to the world,” she said.
She said following the Pahalgam incident, instead of providing evidence, India has focused on silencing strong voices speaking the truth at the international level.
Shazia Marri said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has consistently demanded that the Modi government either provide evidence regarding the Pahalgam incident or support an international investigation.
“The Modi regime is attempting to conceal the truth and divert public attention from its failures,” she said. She said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has also highlighted that the Modi government is covering up its failures and shifting focus away from the grave human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
“We all know how human rights are being trampled in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir,” she said.
She further said Modi himself is responsible for the killing of innocent people in Pahalgam, and his attempts to portray himself as a victim will fail. “Even the people of India are raising questions about the government’s security failures,” she said.
Shazia Marri said the international community must take notice of India’s state-sponsored terrorism and the oppression of Muslims, Christians, and other minorities, and must boycott the “Butcher of Gujarat” on a global level.
She said the people of Pakistan and all national forces stand united against India’s nefarious designs.
Meanwhile, Bilawal House spokesperson Surendar Valasai strongly condemned India’s move to block the X (formerly Twitter) account of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and said India’s move to block party chairman’s X account proves that Indian Prime Minister Modi is afraid of him.
“It also proves that India is, in fact, an undemocratic country and its Prime Minister is an extremely cowardly person,” he said.
The Bilawal House spokesperson said Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s narrative on the Pahalgam incident unsettled Modi. He added that India’s suspension of the PPP Chairman’s X account is akin to an ostrich burying its head in the sand.
Pointing out past events, he said it was Bilawal Bhutto Zardari who first exposed the “Butcher of Gujarat” before the world, and he will continue to hold up a mirror to Modi’s warmongering mindset.
