‘Accountability key to forming a top-performing police force’
LAHORE : DIG Operations Faisal Kamran has emphasized that internal accountability plays a vital role in forming a top-performing police force.
He declared that a few corrupt individuals will not be allowed to defame the entire department. Officers and personnel involved in corruption or misuse of authority must be ready for strict accountability. He made these remarks during the weekly Orderly Room held at Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh.
DIG Operations issued disciplinary actions against 8 personnel after inquiries into complaints of misuse of authority and other misconducts. Punishments included withholding of service benefits and salary deductions for those proven guilty. He also ordered re-investigation into show-cause notices of 3 other personnel. Faisal Kamran stated that those who misuse authority are enemies of both the public and the police force.
Over the past 11 months, more than 400 personnel have been penalized under the accountability process.
He added that improving service delivery depends on the faithful execution of duties, and those who perform with complete honesty will be appreciated and encouraged.
