NAB vows swift justice for housing scam victims

LAHORE : The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore, led by Director General M Ahtram Dar, held its monthly open court at the NAB Lahore Bureau on Saturday.

Several victims of illegal housing societies and Ponzi schemes attended, presenting their grievances directly to the DG. Affected individuals from major housing scandals, including Prime Zone, Al-Rehman Garden Phase 4, Khayaban-e-Amin, Palm Vista, Grand Avenue, Professional Cooperative, New Lahore City, Omega, and Bin Alam, were prominently represented.

The DG NAB Lahore listened to all complaints, reaffirming NAB’s commitment to justice and accountability.

He set clear deadlines for investigation teams to advance cases swiftly, emphasising timely relief as per the NAB Chairman’s directives.

He stressed NAB’s dedication to protecting victims’ rights and ensuring restitution through legal means.

Addressing the Prime Zone Scandal, DG NAB noted that a corruption reference has been filed in the Accountability Court, with five suspects were arrested.

Efforts are ongoing to repatriate the main accused via Interpol.

For Al-Rehman Garden Phase 4, he directed the team to resolve registration issues for 77 victims within two weeks and submit a detailed report.

In the Khayaban-e-Amin case, 550 of 700 complainants have received plots, with the remaining issues to be resolved by May 10, 2025. For Omega Housing, the management was ordered to refund victims per NAB’s refund policy, with strict compliance enforced. Attendees expressed satisfaction with NAB Lahore’s proactive measures and optimism for swift resolutions.
