Empty threat

This letter refers to the news report ‘Allegations just an excuse: India’s real target is Indus River, says Bilawal’ (May 2, 2025). The first point to consider is that, due to the terrain of the regions through which the Indus, Jhelum and Chenab rivers flow, it would be physically challenging and economically unfeasible for India to stop or divert their waters.
Instead of focusing all our energy on fears of India cutting off our water supply, we should turn our attention to conserving the water we currently have and increasing the storage capacity of our dams. Bilawal Bhutto would go down in history as the saviour of Pakistan if he promotes the building of the Soan Dam and other dams.
