72 new sport uplift schemes to be part of ADP 2025-26: secy

LAHORE:Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial has announced 72 new sports development schemes as part of the Annual Development Programme (ADP) 2025-26 during an important meeting held at Punjab Stadium on Monday.

The meeting also reviewed other ongoing and future projects aimed at enhancing Punjab’s sports infrastructure. The meeting was attended by DG Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal Chaudhry, Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Project Director PMU Qaiser Raza, Deputy Director Tariq Khanzada, and Section Officer Mirza Nadeem.

Addressing the meeting, Muzaffar Sial revealed that a total of 194 sports development schemes will be completed during the next fiscal year. Among these initiatives, construction is set to commence for a Boxing Complex and a Cycling Velodrome at Nishtar Park Sports Complex. “Several mega projects are being prepared for the next financial year,” he stated, emphasising the department’s commitment to expanding sports facilities.

The secretary highlighted efforts to foster a robust sports culture across Punjab, in line with the vision of Chief Minister Punjab. “Modern sports infrastructure is being constructed for the development of sports in all parts of the province,” he said. “The sports and youth affairs department continues to prioritise comprehensive planning and execution of its development schemes to encourage sports at the grassroots level and provide state-of-the-art facilities for athletes.
