Rescue 1122 conducts pre-flood mock exercise
MULTAN: The Punjab Emergency Service Rescue 1122 Multan conducted pre-flood dry mock exercise at Rescue Station 44 Industrial Estate to meet any flood emergency here on Monday.
The exercise was led by Rescue 1122 District Emergency Officer Dr Hussain Mian. Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Bukhari was also present on the occasion. In addition, officials of Civil Defence, Police, Health, Livestock, PDMA, Education and all relevant departments also participated in the exercise.
On the occasion of the pre-flood dry mock exercise, relief camps were set up by Rescue 1122, Revenue Department, Health, Education, Civil Defence, Livestock, Municipal Corporation, Social Welfare and other departments.
Deputy Commissioner Multan Muhammad Ali Bukhari inspected all the campuses and expressed complete satisfaction over the preparedness of Rescue 1122 Multan to deal with the flood. He also inspected the equipment used for rescue and relief during the flood.
During the pre-flood dry mock exercise, rescue volunteers demonstrated life-saving exercises by saving drowning people and performing CPR.Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Ali Bukhari said the City District Administration had issued flood red alert to all the relevant departments. The services of the volunteers without any compensation were commendable, he added.
He said that the performance of Rescue 1122 Multan under the leadership of District Emergency Officer Dr Hussain Mian was commendable. Rescue 1122 had established its reputation in a short period of time with its hard work and professional performance, he maintained. He said that the personnel of Rescue 1122 were appreciated for their services in floods and other emergencies.
He said that Rescue 1122, Civil Defence and other related institutions should be alert in time to deal with possible flood situations and continuity should be maintained in the exercises conducted to shift people to safe places.
District Emergency Officer Rescue 1122 Multan Dr Hussain Mian said that Rescue 1122 and the district administration were fully prepared for the expected floods and all resources would be utilised in this regard.
