MANSEHRA: Rallies were taken out across the upper parts of the Hazara division on Sunday to express solidarity and support for the armed forces in the wake of Indian threats of an attack on Pakistan.

“The Indian government, which is internally facing economic and political crises, wants to divert its people’s attention from real issues by exploiting their sentiments and talking about an attack on our country, which would be thwarted with a full might,” Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf, president of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Hazara and MPA told participants at a rally held here. People from different walks of life attended the rally, which started from Abbottabad Road, marched through various streets, and assembled at Khatm-i-Nabowwat Chowk. Car rallies were also held in Mansehra and other parts of the district to express solidarity with the armed forces and to protest against India.

The participants, holding banners and placards, raised anti-India and pro-army slogans.Sardar Shahjehan Yousuf said that if India indulged in any adventurism under the guise of the Pahalgam attack on tourists, they would stand shoulder to shoulder with the armed forces to defend the country.

“We are united to thwart Indian aggression and give a tit-for-tat response,” he added. Tehsil Chairman Baffa-Pakhal, Sardar Shah Khan, said that the nation was ready to shed blood to teach a lesson to Indian forces.
