Sugar price increases by Re1 per kg

LAHORE:There has been an upward trend in the price of sugar in the market after ending of price cap by the government.
According to dealers, ex-mill and wholesale prices of sugar have been increased by Re1 per kg each, raising from Rs 15,900 to 16,000 per 100 kg and 16,200 to 16,300 per kg respectively. Meanwhile, sugar at DC rates is not available at many stores. Consumers also complained that sugar is being sold at Rs180 per kg at departmental stores.
