86 couples tie the knot under ‘Dhee Rani’ programme
JHANG: Punjab Social Welfare and Baitul Maal Director General Muhammad Tariq Qureshi has said that the ‘Dhee Rani’ programme is a lifeline for needy families.
He expressed these views as the chief guest at a mass wedding ceremony of the second phase held at a local marriage hall organised by the Jhang district administration here on Tuesday. A total of 86 couples from the districts of Jhang and Toba Tek Singh were married during the event.
The Social Welfare and Baitul Maal DG said that the Punjab government was empowering families. Tariq Qureshi congratulated the newlywed couples and their families, emphasising that the ‘Dhee Rani’ programme serves as a cornerstone of a progressive and welfare-oriented society.
Deputy Commissioner Ali Akbar briefed the media regarding the function and told that the newlywed couples were 38 from Jhang, 12 from Shorkot, four from Ahmadpur Sial, six from Athara Hazari tehsils and 20 couples from the Toba Tek Singh.He told that under the ‘Dhee Rani’ programme, each couple would get Rs 100,000 along with essential household items, including furniture and clothing, to help them start their new lives

Muhammad Kashif, a resident of Mauza Rasheedpur of Tehsil Athara Hazari, appeared before the DPO and stated that his uncle, Muhammad Anwar, an overseas Pakistani, had started construction of his house on his land located at Rashidpur, which falls under the jurisdiction of Athara Hazari police.
