Former senator and Jamaat-e-Islami leader Professor Khurshid Ahmad passed away last week at the age of 92. Aside from being a prominent politician, Professor Khurshid was an economist, philosopher and prolific writer. He left behind many books and articles about Pakistan, the Muslim world and the West.
He was also a federal minister during the rule of General Zia. Above all, Professor Khurshid was renowned for his principles. His ministership was more of an honour for Gen Zia than it was for him.
