Bushra surprised at visitors meeting husband in jail

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf founder chairman Imran Khan’s spouse Bushra Bibi has reportedly expressed surprise over the visitors meeting her husband in the Adiala jail while her family members were disallowed to do so.

It was learnt that Bushra was also around during the lawyers’ meeting with the PTI founder on Tuesday. As soon as the lawyers arrived to meet Imran, Bushra Bibi asked everyone one by one whose name was on the list. To this unexpected question, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan and Barrister Salman Safdar said their names were on the list.

According to sources, then Bushra Bibi asked senior lawyer Faisal Chaudhry and Ali Imran, who had sent them inside, whereas “our family members are not allowed to meet, how do you get permission?” In reply, the jail officer present informed her that her family would have a meeting after the lawyers. On watching all this, the party founder stopped the party leadership from making their differences public. He agreed that people were not allowed to meet according to the list, but those who are allowed should come to him so that contact can be restored. Barristers Gohar, Salman Safdar and Rai Salman had separate meetings with the PTI founder for 20 minutes. However, no specific details came out.

Meanwhile, talking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja said it was a deviation from the high court order and the laid down procedure to pick and choose people for meeting the party founder. He pointed out that there were 300 cases against the founder PTI and that yesterday, three lawyers who were fighting his cases were supposed to go inside the jail. Even, the founder’s spokesperson Niazullah Niazi was not allowed to go. Salman said the lawyers have to discuss the cases and seek guidance in meetings with the founder PTI. He regretted that the jail staff sent other people for the meeting.
