CTD arrests ‘SRA militant’
The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of the Sindh police announced on Wednesday the arrest of a suspected militant linked to the banned Sindhudesh Revolutionary Army (SRA).
The suspect, identified as Sajjad Shar, also known as Babloo, son of Ghulam Abbas, was taken into custody following a targeted operation. According to CTD Operations SSP Irfan Bahadur, illegal weapons were recovered from Shar's possession during his arrest. The suspect, previously apprehended in connection with murder, attempted murder, and possession of explosives, was allegedly involved in reconnaissance operations, monitoring sensitive locations in both Karachi and interior Sindh.
SSP Bahadur further stated that Shar provided critical information to his associates regarding the locations he surveilled. Investigations are ongoing, with authorities seeking additional details on other militants connected to the SRA. A case has been registered at the CTD, and further probes are underway.
