PESHAWAR: Advisor to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Barrister Dr Muhammad Ali Saif said on Wednesday that the provincial government had taken another significant step towards promoting education in the region.
“A principled decision has been made to provide free school bags to students, in addition to the already approved funding for the provision of free textbooks to students in public schools,” he said in a statement.
Furthermore, he said, the annual budget for the parent-teacher councils has been increased from Rs5 billion to Rs7 billion. “These decisions aim to reduce the financial burden on low-income families and to strengthen the ongoing school enrollment campaign,” he added.
Barrister Saif said that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was actively implementing practical measures in line with the vision of Imran Khan to promote education in the province. He also extended a pointed remark towards Maryam Nawaz, suggesting that she consider replicating this initiative in Punjab, stating, “We want the children of Punjab to also prosper and receive quality education. Maryam Nawaz should focus on real reform agendas like CM Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, rather than making TikTok videos.”
He added that Chief Minister Ali Amin Khan Gandapur was utilising all available resources to boost the education sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, recognizing that education is the key to unlocking development and progress. “The government is committed to making this year’s enrollment campaign more effective through serious and targeted measures, which are expected to yield long-term positive outcomes,” he added.
