CM orders release of Rs13b for completion of uplift projects

PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur on Tuesday directed the authorities concerned to release Rs13 billion to ensure the timely completion of the development projects and remove them from the Annual Development Program (ADP) by the end of the current fiscal year.

With the release of these funds, 511 key public welfare development projects across the province will be completed by June this year.He issued the orders while presiding over a meeting on the development projects , said a handout.

The meeting was attended by Advisor to the Chief Minister on Finance Muzzammil Aslam, Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, and other relevant administrative secretaries.The meeting reviewed the progress on projects included in the development programs of various departments, including health, education, local government, communications, agriculture, and public health engineering, among others.

The chief minister stated that unnecessary delays in development projects result in a waste of taxpayers’ money, adding that frequent revisions of project costs must also be avoided.The chief minister decided to immediately launch work on the incumbent provincial government’s flagship projects. As part of this decision, work on 29 different flagship projects will commence soon.

He directed the release of Rs12 billion within this month for these flagship projects and stated that funds required for the timely completion of development projects would be provided on a priority basis.For the first time in the province’s history, an additional Rs. 30 billion is being released on top of the funds allocated for development projects.
