Driver held for killing two motorcyclists remanded in police custody
A judicial magistrate on Monday remanded the driver of a heavy vehicle in police custody for two days in a case pertaining to the death of two young men in a road accident.
The driver, Abid Ali, was arrested and booked under Section 320 (punishment for qatl-i-khata by rash or negligent driving) of the Pakistan Penal Code by Mithadar police after the trailer driven by him allegedly hit and killed maternal cousins Zaid Ali and Noor Mohammad Aslam, who were riding a motorcycle, in the New Chali area late Saturday night.
The investigating officer produced the suspect before the judicial magistrate (South) and sought his physical remand. He informed that Section 322 (punishment for qatl-bis-sabab) of the PPC had also been incorporated in the case. He said the suspect's custody was required to complete the investigation. The magistrate handed over the driver to the police on a two-day physical remand.
