Woman killed by husband for ‘honour’

A 40-year-old woman was murdered allegedly by her husband over ‘honour’ in Shehbaz Goth near the Northern Bypass, police said on Thursday.

The suspect fled the scene after the murder. The woman’s body was discovered from a house in Shehbaz Goth located within the jurisdiction of the SITE Super Highway Industrial Area police station.

The victim, who was identified as Pari, 40, wife of Ghulam Ali, was reportedly subjected to torture before murder. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for legal formalities. The victim's brother alleged that she was killed by her husband.

“We were informed by Ghulam Ali’s brother that my sister was murdered after being severely tortured,” he told the police. Police stated that the murder appeared to be motivated by ‘honour’. Efforts were under way to arrest the suspect.
