Friendly volleyball match held
PARACHINAR: In a major move towards restoration of peace to the violence-hit Kurram tribal district, youth from the Turi and Bangash tribes held a friendly volleyball match.
The Kurram Sports Department had organised the volleyball match at the Parachinar Sports Complex, which featured a friendly game between the Sunni team from Bushehra and the Shia team from Parachinar.
Officials said the shift marked a positive change following the peace agreement, signaling a move towards reconciliation and unity.Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Amir Nawaz said that over a thousand bunkers were dismantled as part of the peace process. “Efforts are now focused on replacing weapons with pens and creating spaces for peace through sports. The local government is dedicated to reviving the area’s sports culture as a means of fostering unity,” he went on to add.
