Vietnam envoy, PAL chief discuss cooperation
Islamabad: Ambassador of Vietnam to Pakistan Pham Anh Tuan visited the Pakistan Academy of Letters (PAL) and met the Chairperson of the Academy, Dr. Najiba Arif.
The First Secretory of Vietnam Embassy Truong Van Thang, the Second Secretory Pham Hong Quang and the Director / Chief Editor of the Academy, Muhammad Asim Butt attended the meeting to discuss literary and cultural relations between two countries. An agreement on cooperation in literature and culture was signed between PAL and Vietnam Writer's Association. It was agreed upon that, the academy will publish Urdu translations of selected poetry of the great Vietnamese leader and poet Ho Chi Minh, while the Vietnamese writers will translate the poetry of famous Pakistani poets into Vietnamese.
PAL Chairperson Dr. Najiba Arif and Pham Anh Tuan emphasised their commitment to enhancing literary exchanges between the two nations. Later, the Vietnamese ambassador visited Academy's Hall of Fame and Literary Museum of Pakistani languages showing keen interest in their collections. The ambassador remarked that museum is a significant initiative to preserve Pakistani language heritage.
