Pregnant woman ‘killed by husband’ in Sohrab Goth
Police on Saturday claimed that the pregnant woman who was believed to have been murdered during a mugging in Sohrab Goth on Friday was killed by her husband.
District East police chief SSP Dr Farrukh Raza said the husband had initially claimed that his wife had been murdered during a mugging near Pareshan Chowk in Faqeera Goth.
SSP Raza said that a closer examination of the crime scene raised some suspicions. More evidences were collected during the investigation that made it clear that the case was not of mugging, he added.
He said that the crime scene indicated by the husband was incorrect, and that the site of his wife’s death was somewhere else. The husband was taken into custody on the suspicion that the death took place at the couple’s home, he added.
The officer said the weapon used in the murder, and the husband are being handed over to the district’s investigation department, which would bring the case to its logical conclusion.
