Woman opens fire after minor road accident
A woman opened fire following a minor accident near the Essa Nagri cut on Saturday. According to the FIR registered on the complaint of ASI Shabbir, the accident had occurred due to reckless and negligent driving by both parties.
The woman and the trailer driver were reportedly trying to overtake each other when the truck grazed the car, prompting the woman to lose her temper and open fire into the air.
The woman, identified as Alisha Amir, pulled out a 9mm pistol and fired warning shots during the heated exchange. The truck driver, Zafar Iqbal, attempted to flee and sought cover behind police officers nearby.
Police said Alisha presented her weapon licence, but it was found to have been expired on December 31, 2023. The authenticity of the licence is being verified.
Alisha was taken to the Women Police Station while Iqbal was moved to the PIB police station. A case has been registered against both of them.
