Mission might hold meetings with Ministry of Law and Justice and representatives of superior judiciary
ISLAMABAD: An International Monetary Fund’s scoping mission is currently visiting Pakistan to finalise its assessment report in which recommendations about ensuring improved governance and anti-corruption measures are going to be finalised.
A top government official confirmed to The News on Thursday that the GCD mission was scheduled to meet the FBR high-ups on placement of Integrity Management Cell and taking other steps to improve governance in the taxation machinery.
The mission might hold meetings with the Ministry of Law and Justice and representatives of the superior judiciary for sharing the draft of their assessment report.
On finalizing the Budget 2025-26, the sources said another mission of the IMF was expected to visit Pakistan around mid-April to hold deliberations with the Ministry of Finance and FBR high-ups.
