Alleged rapist of woman arrested

MANSEHRA: The police claimed to have arrested one of the two accused who lured a mother of two minor children to a deserted house and raped her.

“We have arrested one of the two gang members who took a woman to a deserted house under the pretense of showing her a rental property and then raped her,” District Police Officer Shafiullah Khan Gandapur told reporters on Thursday.

He said the incident took place within the jurisdiction of Khaki Police Station, where the prime suspect, Zaheer Ahmad, and his accomplice tricked the woman into visiting an isolated house, pretending it was available for rent and sexually assaulted her before fleeing the scene. “The woman lodged a complaint with the police, and we immediately formed a team to arrest the culprits,” Gandapur said.

He added that during a raid in the Hamshirian area, the police apprehended Zaheer Ahmad, while his accomplice managed to escape and remained at large.“A special team has been deployed to apprehend the fleeing suspect, and raids are being conducted at various localities to ensure his arrest,” Gandapur stated.

The DPO further revealed that, according to preliminary investigations, the arrested individuals were involved in recording videos of women and using them for blackmail.“We are also investigating similar cases, as initial findings indicate that these criminals filmed obscene videos of a woman to blackmail her for money,” he added.
