PHC CJ says strong bar key to upholding judicial sanctity
MANSEHRA: Peshawar High Court (PHC) acting Chief Justice SM Attique Shah has said that a strong bar is essential to maintaining the sanctity of the judiciary and an early dispensation of justice.
“I chose to visit the bar here because of its remarkable legacy and contributions to the bench. I am optimistic that this strong liaison will continue for the swift delivery of justice to litigants,” he said while addressing the members of the District Bar Association here.
The chief justice inaugurated several facilities, including a playground for the children of women litigants, a recreational space for women judges and litigants, and a consultation facility for couples seeking legal resolution in cases related to divorce and child custody.
The chief justice emphasised that the Peshawar High Court was implementing measures to expedite case disposal in subordinate courts.“The lawyer fraternity has played, and continues to play, a pivotal role in ensuring the early resolution of cases in Mansehra and elsewhere in the province,” he said.
He further stated that the construction of the judicial complex in Balakot would begin soon, as land for the project had been acquired.“Land for the Mansehra Judicial Complex has been acquired, and construction will commence soon,” he added.
Speaking on the occasion, Hafiz Mohammad Naseem Khan, President of the District Bar Association, said that the bench and bar were working together to ensure the swift disposal of cases.
“Islam emphasises the early dispensation of justice, and both the bench and bar should uphold this principle,” he stressed. He urged the authorities to allocate the police ground adjacent to the court for the development of a judicial colony.
