Punjab governor confers civil awards on distinguished personalities
Recipients of Presidential Award for Pride of Performance included Hamid Rana, Sheba Arshad, and Aamir Ashfaq
LAHORE: Governor Punjab Sardar Saleem Haider Khan on Sunday conferred prestigious civil awards on distinguished personalities on behalf of the President of Pakistan, recognising their outstanding contributions in various fields.
The ceremony took place at the Governor House here on the occasion of Pakistan Day.
The recipients of the Sitara-e-Imtiaz included the late Colin David, whose award was received by his widow Professor Rukhsana David; Ms Salma Awan; Mian Aziz Ahmed (late), whose award was received by his son Mian Rafiq; and senior journalist Salman Ghani.
The recipients of the Presidential Award for Pride of Performance included Hamid Rana, Sheba Arshad, Ms Fariha Pervez and Aamir Ashfaq.
The recipients of the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz award included Rafiuddin, Ammad Shakeel Butt, Ms Rabab Sikandar, senior anchor Muzammil Suharwardi, renowned journalists Kamran Shahid, Nasrullah Malik and Muneeb Farooq. The ceremony was attended by government officials and civil society members.
