PhD programme in public policy & governance launched
HARIPUR: The University of Haripur has emerged as the first public sector university of the province by introducing PhD degree programme in Public Policy and Governance from the fall semester 2025, said Prof Dr Abdul Majid, Dean of Department of Management Sciences while talking to newsmen here on Saturday.
He said that after successful launch of the BS and M.Phil programme, the UoH has, in line with the guidelines of Higher Education Commission, decided to start the PhD program from the fall semester 2025. He said that initially there would be 10 admissions that the university would offer that would be increased gradually as under the leadership of VC Prof Dr Shafiqur Rehman, the UoH achieved all the targets set by the Higher Education Commission.
He said that the governance programme aims to provide students with hands-on experience in understanding the public policy process, develop public policy capabilities through interaction with stakeholders, and conduct policy analysis and evaluation through empirical research.
