CHITRAL: The festival of Nowruz is being celebrated with great zeal and enthusiasm in Lower Chitral’s valleys of Anjigan, Karimabad, and Arkari, as well as in Mastuj Tehsil of Upper Chitral. The atmosphere in these areas resembles that of a festive holiday, with people of all ages, men and women alike, dressed in new clothes and visiting each other’s homes to exchange greetings and good wishes. Houses have been specially cleaned and decorated in connection with the occasion.
This year, the clear weather has further enhanced the excitement of the festivities. In previous years, Nowruz celebrations were often accompanied by rain or snowfall, especially in the remote regions of Chitral.
