PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) has reserved its verdict on PTI leader Faisal Javed’s petition challenging his inclusion in the stop list and his offloading from a flight despite court orders.A single bench of acting Chief Justice SM Atique Shah heard the petition.

During the proceedings, petitioner Faisal Javed, his lawyer Alam Khan, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advocate General Shah Faisal Utmankhel appeared before the court.

The advocate general informed the court that in the previous hearing, the court had set March 17 as the date for proceedings. However, the date was not mentioned in the order sheet, prompting the petitioner to file a fresh application for an urgent hearing. The court then summoned the case file for review.

Faisal Javed’s counsel argued that the court had granted his client interim relief, yet he was still offloaded from a flight while traveling for Umrah due to his name being placed on the stop list. Faisal Javed himself told the court that despite the court’s permission, he was prevented from traveling.

In response, the chief justice asked whether he was in a hurry, to which Faisal Javed replied that his visa would expire on March 20.

He also mentioned that he had already suffered financial losses due to ticket price hikes and that after Ramazan, the Haj season would begin, making it difficult to perform Umrah. He requested the court for an urgent hearing. The chief justice said that the matter would be reviewed and an order would be issued accordingly.
