LDA releases schedule for plots’ third draw

LAHORE: After the first and second auction, the LDA has released the schedule for the third draw. In the upcoming draw of plots, the LDA has offered one-kanal plots of LDA City in the market on easy installments.

On the instructions of DG, the LDA will hold the second draw of this year in May 2025. In the draw, the LDA will put up plots of LDA City, Sabzazar and Gujarpura on easy installments. LDA DG Tahir Farooq has said that the LDA was drawing 40 one-kanal residential plots in City A-1, G-1 and B-1. In the draw, 10 commercial plots of 5 marla, 12 commercial plots of 3 marla, and 14 commercial plots of 1.34 marla will be included in the D-1 block of Gujarpura.

The computerised draw for plots will be held on May 6, 2025. The last date for submitting forms to participate in the lottery was May 2, while applications will be received from March 20. The non-refundable fee for a one-kanal residential plot in LDA City set at Rs15,000, for a 1.34 marla commercial plot in Sabzazar set at Rs5,000, for a 5 marla commercial plot in Gujarpura set at Rs7,000, and for a 3 marla commercial plot set at Rs6,000. Citizens can apply online from the LDA mobile app, website. Applications for the lottery can also be submitted at the LDA Citizen Facilitation Centre.

181 properties sealed

LDA teams taking action against illegal commercial buildings and commercial fee defaulters sealed 181 properties in different areas on Tuesday. They sealed 120 properties on College Road and adjacent schemes for illegal commercial use, conducted operation on College Road, PCSIR Staff Cooperative Housing Scheme, Punjab Government Cooperative Housing Scheme Phase II, New Muslim Town, Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town. The teams sealed 21 properties in New Muslim Town, 40 properties in Allama Iqbal Town and Mustafa Town. The properties sealed include private banks, bakeries, plazas, wedding halls, workshops, restaurants, private schools, shops, offices and others.

Meanwhile, LDA DG Tahir Farooq met with officers of LDA Housing Wing and assigned tasks to them who took charge after the transfer. DG said that providing relief to citizens was the top priority, service delivery has to be improved. Processing of applications received at the Citizen Facilitation Centre should be ensured in a timely manner. Special attention should be paid to sifting of records, delaying tactics were not acceptable.

‘Top athletes to get scholarships’

Secretary Youth Affairs and Sports Punjab Muzaffar Khan Sial has said that the top performing players of upcoming 35th National Games will be awarded scholarships from Rs 2 billion Sports Endowment Fund. Until now 62 athletes are being given scholarships from this fund. Secretary Youth Affairs Punjab shared this information while addressing a meeting at the Punjab Stadium on Tuesday. DG Sports Punjab Khizar Afzaal, Additional Secretary Sports Mian Usman Ali, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, Finance Dept and GM Pension Fund officers participated in the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, Muzaffar Khan Sial said that the top players are being awarded scholarships in three categories - platinum, gold and silver for a year. “Rs 70,000 are being provided in platinum category, Rs 50,000 in gold and Rs 30,000 are being given in silver category”. He further said that Sports Endowment Fund has been established for the welfare of the players.
