CHITRAL: The serene plateau of Qaqlasht in Upper Chitral is set to transform into a vibrant festival ground in the first week of April.
The centuries-old Jashn-e-Qaqlasht festival will be celebrated with great enthusiasm, bringing cultural festivities and sporting events to the region.A meeting held in Booni under the chairmanship of the festival committee’s chairman, Shahzada Sikandarul Mulk, reaffirmed the commitment to showcasing the culture and traditions through various activities. “Our goal is to elevate Jashn-e-Qaqlasht to the level of Jashn-e-Shandur, attracting tourists from all over the country,” he added.
The festival is scheduled to commence immediately after Eidul Fitr and will feature a range of sports and traditional games, with polo taking center stage.Given the heavy snowfall and rainfall during this winter season, the Qaqlasht plateau is expected to offer breathtaking scenery, making it an even more attractive destination for visitors.
