SUKKUR: The gas pipeline passing from Kashmore to Karachi burst with a huge explosion in village Abdul Rahim Jaghirani near Town Chak in Shikarpur.
Police said the cause of the gas pipeline explosion is yet to be ascertained, adding that gas leakage has spread stench in the area.
Residents said they have informed the gas staff about the explosion, however no one from the concerned department reached the spot to repair the damaged part of the pipeline. “We demand the higher authorities repair the pipeline forthwith,” they said.
They further said the gas supply to some areas, including Rustam Town has been suspended.
Lakhi Ghulam Shah SHO said Sui Gas authorities have been informed about the gas explosion and the villagers have been directed to keep away from the spot where the explosion took place.
