Bid to smuggle timber foiled

MANSEHRA: The police seized a large quantity of smuggled timber being illegally transported from forests to different parts of the district.

A police team, led by SP Nazir Khan, along with DSP Waheed Khan and SHO Darband Hassan Khan, intercepted a pickup vehicle following a tip-off and seized a large quantity of high-quality deodar timber being smuggled to Mansehra.

The timber smugglers and the driver were arrested, and a fine of Rs300,000 was imposed.

In another operation, a police team led by SP City Rashim Jehangir, along with DSP and SHO intercepted another pickup vehicle and seized a huge quantity of illegally transported timber.
