President summoned session in exercise of powers conferred under Articles 54(1) and 56(3) of Constitution
ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday summoned a joint session of parliament on March 10 (Monday) at 3:00pm at the Parliament House.
The president summoned the joint session of parliament in exercise of the powers conferred under Articles 54(1) and 56(3) of the Constitution.Zardari will address the joint session to kick-start the second parliamentary year of the current National Assembly. In his presidential address, Zardari will outline the government’s achievements in previous year and set the tone for the upcoming year.
Meanwhile, President Zardari also summoned the National Assembly session on March 11 at 3pm at the Parliament House. The session has been convened under Article 54(1) of the Constitution, as per the powers vested in the President, said a press release issued by the National Assembly Secretariat.
