IGP forwards names of 39 DSPs for promotion
LAHORE:Inspector General of Police (IGP), Punjab, Dr Usman Anwar Friday forwarded the names of 39 DSPs to the Punjab government for their promotion to the rank of SPs.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, after the final approval of the Punjab Chief Minister, the official notification for the promotion of the DSPs will be issued. The IGP chaired the promotion board meeting for the DSPs on Thursday at the Central Police Office and 39 DSPs were selected out of 133 during the meeting on merit.
The names of the DSPs selected for the promotion are: Riaz Ahmed of traffic police, Shahid Rasheed, Sajid Mehmood, Yousuf Haroon, Fawad Ahmad, Muneer Badar, Shafqat Nadeem, Kashif Abdullah, Ramiz Ahmed, Raza Ullah, Ali Akhtar, Shahid Shafiq, Amir Mushtaq, Shahid Nazir, Jan Muhammad, Muhammad Khan, Irfan Ul Haq, Babar Mumtaz, Saeed Ahmed, Mansoor Ul Hassan, Akhtar Ali, Atif Imran, Muhammad Saleem, Fayaz Ahmed, Jamshed Iqbal, Muhammad Tariq, Hassan Farooq, Nasrullah Khan, Khalid Saeed, Zafar Javed, Shahid Ikram, Asar Ali, Ghazi Muhammad Umar Farooq, Zulfiqar Ali, Mudassir Iqbal, Humayun Iftikhar, Moazzam Ali, Adil Rasheed, Saleem Ullah, and Riaz Ahmed.
Earlier, IGP chaired the Police Executive Board meeting at the Central Police Office. Additional IGs, CCPO Lahore, MD Safe Cities Authority, heads of all departments and field units, DIGs, AIGs, and senior police officers attended the meeting.
According to the Punjab Police spokesperson, meeting discussed various administrative and policy matters, including proposed amendments to laws. Heads of various units presented solid proposals and observations on the agenda and the discussed matters. The IGP urged supervisory officers to ensure the efficient execution of administrative matters and complete development projects within the specified timelines.
