Rawalpindi:Managing Director of the Water and Sanitation Agency (Wasa) Rawalpindi, Muhammad Saleem Ashraf, has set a two-year deadline to complete the mega water supply project ‘Dreams One’, ensuring its completion by 2026.

Under Lot-4 of the ‘Dreams One’ project, the plan includes supplying an additional 5 million gallons per day (MGD) from Rawal Dam, rehabilitating and upgrading the Rawal Lake Filtration Plant, and installing two heavy-duty pumps to supply 8 MGD from Khanpur Dam. Additionally, the project aims to establish a 24/7 water supply for three union councils in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed.

During a meeting held at Wasa headquarters to review the project's progress, MD Wasa emphasised that this crucial public welfare initiative would be completed within two years instead of the initially planned three. The meeting was attended by project consultants from M/s PMCS, contractors of Lot-4, and CIT officers. MD Wasa directed officials to expedite the replacement of machinery at the Rawal Lake Filtration Plant.
