ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court has stayed a high- powered selection board meeting for the promotion of FBR officers from grade 21 to 22 till the next hearing. The court, while issuing an interim stay order on the promotion of FBR officers, has directed that the selection board meeting should not be held till March 12. It also sought affidavits from the FBR chairman and the secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office.

Justice Sardar Ijaz Ishaq Khan, while issuing an order on a request of FBR officer Shah Bano, directed that the FBR officers concerned should be informed about the court order by telephone.

Before signing the order, the FBR officers should be aware of the court proceedings and the court order, said the IHC judge. The court also ordered the FBR chairman and the secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office to submit affidavits.

It directed that the FBR chairman should file an affidavit that no summary whatsoever was moved before the PM leading to the placement of the petitioner’s name in the admin pool. It told the secretary to the PM office that no such summary was received from the FBR chairman’s office. The high court observed that if the affidavit is not filed with it, the relevant summary should be kept on record before the next hearing.

FBR officer Shah Bano approached the IHC to include her name in the high-powered board for promotion from Grade 21 to Grade 22.
