Murtaza Jatoi, 23 others booked for ‘attacking police’ in Dadu

Armed men at residence allegedly opened fire after police reached site on receiving information

SUKKUR: A case has been registered against Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) leader Murtaza Jatoi, and 23 others at a police station in Dadu’s riverine area for allegedly firing at police, damaging a police vehicle, and other charges.

According to the FIR, people from Jatoi community gathered at the residence of Nader Ali Jatoi and wanted to block the road, allegedly on the instigation of Murtaza Jatoi and Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi.

The armed men at the residence allegedly opened fire after the police reached the site on receiving the information. Two officers, Sikandar Shabbir and Khadim Hussain, sustained injuries after the mobile van’s tyre got burst and it overturned.

Two armed men, Kashmir Jatoi and Rahim Bakhsh Jatoi, were arrested “along with a Kalashnikov and a rifle”. Other gunmen who fled allegedly after firing at the police included Hussain, Rahim Bakhsh, Maulidino Jatoi, Nadir Jatoi, Sohrab Jatoi, Fateh Muhammad, Abdul Wahid, Babu Jatoi, Jaber Jatoi, Saddam Jatoi, Ramzan, Bakhsh Ali, Ghulam Murtaza, and Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi. The case Crime No: 03/2025 on 26/02/205 has been filed against Murtaza Jatoi and 23 others under section 6/7 ATA, 324/353,148/149,109/440 PPC, Terrorism Act at the Aminani police station in Dadu’s riverine area. The police have also filed two separate cases after the weapons were recovered from the arrested accused.
