LAHORE:Light and moderate rain was recorded in various parts of the City here on Thursday while Met office predicted cloudy weather conditions for the next 24 hours.
The rain started in the City on early hours and continued till night in spans. Following the rain, Wasa Lahore’s operation wing became alert. Wasa Vice Chairman Chaudhry Shahbaz Ahmed and MD Ghufran Ahmed instructed field teams to remain active and clear all main roads and underpasses completely so that traffic flow was not affected. MD further directed to keep all disposal stations operational while all generators on standby. In case of power outage, disposal stations will be run on generators, he said, adding the rain situation was being monitored moment by moment.
Meanwhile, the average AQI in the city was 119, which was unhealthy for sensitive groups while the PM2.5 concentration was 8.6 times the WHO annual PM2.5 guideline value.
