Road safety measures ordered
PESHAWAR: Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mahsud has taken notice of a fatal accident on Palosi Road caused by overspeeding and directed urgent safety measures, including the construction of speed breakers modeled after those in Peshawar Cantt.
He instructed the director general of the Peshawar Development Authority to install speed breakers at two locations near residential areas, along with signboards and sodium streetlights, to prevent further accidents.
Palosi Road, which connects University Road to the suburban area of Palosi and also leads to Peshawar Zoo, was recently widened, reconstructed, and beautified under Phase Two of the Peshawar Uplift Programme.
However, concerns had been raised over overspeeding on the road. A day earlier, a high-speed collision between two vehicles claimed three lives.
