Soldier martyred in cross-border fire

LANDIKOTAL: A soldier of security forces was martyred and another sustained injuries when Afghan forces opened fire on a post in the Sasobi area of Bazaar Zakhakhel in Landikotal here on Wednesday.
Official sources said that Afghan forces initiated unprovoked firing on the posts of security forces. He said the Pakistani troops responded with heavy gunfire, targeting the Afghan post.
A resident, on condition of anonymity, told this scribe that heavy firing between the two sides lasted for more than two hours. The official said Afghan forces targeted Sasobi base camp, Sasobi picket-two and three and Nakai-one posts in Bazaar Zakhakhel.
Naik Zahoor Marwat embraced Shahadat while Lance Naik Tahir was wounded in the unprovoked firing.
