Cop injured in Kohat attack
KOHAT: A cop was injured as alleged terrorists attacked a police mobile with hand grenades in the Shadipur area on the outskirts of Kohat Tuesday, officials said. The police said the attack occurred during a routine patrol on Parao-Sar Nizampur Road in Shadipur.
“The assailants in a motorcar (registration No N-5154) opened fire on the police. In the exchange of fire, police constable Suleman sustained injuries, while one terrorist, identified as Siraj, was killed. His accomplice, Moin, along with two others, was arrested in an injured condition,” said a police official.
“The police retaliated by killing one terrorist and arresting three others. Weapons and hand grenades were recovered from the arrested suspects,” said Regional Police Officer (RPO) Abbas Majeed Marwat while confirming the incident.He said security forces and police had launched a search operation in the area. The Kohat RPO assured that all necessary measures were being taken to maintain order.
