The funeral prayers for martyred policeman Imran Khan, who was shot dead by terrorists in the Manghopir area, were offered on Sunday. A case was also registered against terrorists belonging to a banned organisation.

On Saturday, Police Constable Imran was martyred near Aman Chowk in the Manghopir area. A terrorist group later claimed responsibility of the attack. The funeral prayers were held at the Garden South Police Headquarters and attended by Sindh Inspector General of Police Ghulam Nabi Memon, Karachi Additional IGP and other senior police officers.

A large number of the martyr's family members, friends, relatives and residents also attended the last rites. The IGP directed the West DIG to ensure strict action against those involved in the incident. He instructed that intelligence sources, crime scene evidence, and other leads should be used to bring the suspects to justice as soon as possible.

While offering condolences to the family, the police chief assured them that the Sindh police stood with them. The martyred officer was posted at the Manghopir police station. An FIR No 05/25 was registered under the sections 302/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) and section 21(i) of the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) 1997. The FIR was lodged by the Counter-Terrorism Department against the chief of a banned outfit, Hafiz Haleem, and three other terrorists. Police officials stated that they had obtained CCTV footage showing the three suspects fleeing on a motorcycle after the attack.
