Education is often hailed as the cornerstone of human progress, yet what happens when the very foundation begins to crumble? Too frequently, the current system emphasises rote memorisation, exam preparation, and the attainment of credentials, while neglecting the cultivation of real understanding. Students may excel in standardized tests, earn degrees, and achieve professional titles, yet fail to grasp the underlying principles of their fields. At the school and college levels, subjects like science and mathematics are often taught in ways that reward memorisation over comprehension. Consequently, students emerge with the ability to recite formulas and definitions but lack the capacity to apply them in practical scenarios.
Somewhere along the educational journey, the pursuit of grades eclipsed the quest for genuine learning. A new approach must ensure that every student, regardless of their field, develops a solid grasp of foundational concepts – transforming education from a mere pursuit of qualifications into a pathway for understanding, innovation, and meaningful progress.
