PHC extends protective bail of PTI leader
PESHAWAR: The Peshawar High Court (PHC) on Wednesday extended the protective bail of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and Member National Assembly (MNA) Asif Khan till February 20.
A two-member bench comprising Chief Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim and Justice Abdul Fayyaz heard the case.During the proceedings, Asif Khan’s counsel, Mohsin Farooq, informed the court that his client was an MNA and had multiple cases registered against him. He further explained that Asif Khan could not appear in court due to the recent passing of his sister.
The lawyer also stated that cases have been lodged against Asif Khan in Islamabad, and he wishes to appear before the relevant courts. Therefore, he requested the court to grant him protective bail and direct Islamabad police to provide case details.
Deputy Attorney General Daulat Khan informed the court that Islamabad police had not yet submitted their report. In response, the court ordered Islamabad police to provide details of the cases and extended Asif Khan’s protective bail until February 20.
