PTI lawmaker’s son held on kidnapping charge
MARDAN: Law-enforcement agencies and police arrested the son of a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) lawmaker in an alleged kidnapping case on Wednesday, sources said.
Sources added that the law-enforcement agencies and police arrested Aziz Khan, son of PTI Member Provincial Assembly Abdul Salam Afridi along with his other companion identified as Ejaz.
Sources added that the accused allegedly kidnaped Farhan, son of Irfan, a resident of Parho Dahri, Takhatbhai for ransom.The accused, the sources said, allegedly demanded Rs20 million ransom from the kidnaped person. Sources added that the accused allegedly kidnaped the person from Takhatbhai. However, sources added that the police did not recover the kidnaped person till filing this report.
However, when this correspondent contacted District Police Officer (DPO) Zahoor Babar Afridi through WhatsApp, he added that it was not kidnapping for ransom but a family dispute. He added that the kidnaped person would be recovered soon.This correspondent also sent a message to MPA Abdul Salam Afridi for his comments but he did not reply.
