E-bikes for athletes announced
LAHORE : Punjab Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs Malik Faisal Ayub Khokhar has said that the electric bikes will be given to all participating athletes of Inter-Division 3rd phase of Khelta Punjab Games as per announcement of Punjab Chief Minister she made at the grand opening ceremony.
Faisal Khokhar shared this information while talking to media at the final match of Khelta Punjab Games cricket event at the cycling Velodrome on Saturday.
DG Sports and Youth Affairs Punjab Khizar Afzaal, Director Admin Dr M Kaleem, Director Sports Rana Nadeem Anjum, Deputy Director Zahoor Ahmed, Ataur Rehman and other officials were also present on this occasion.
The minister also watched exciting competitions of wrestling, taekwondo and cricket in Nishtar Park Sports Complex and awarded cash prizes.
He said that it is for the first time that the cash prizes for each event are being given on the spot. “Khelta Punjab Games are the biggest event in Pakistan's sports history with all the participating athletes showing great passion”.
He said that Rs 100 million cash prizes are being distributed among the top position holders of Khelta Punjab Games. “It is nice to see immense sports talent in our players participating in all sports disciplines”.
