KARACHI: Sixty-three passengers, including 40 Umrah pilgrims, 15 work visa passengers and a beggar were offloaded at Karachi Airport in one day, while 17 Pakistanis were deported from different countries, including Canada.
According to airport sources, during the last 24 hours, 40 Umrah pilgrims from Karachi Airport to Saudi Arabia were taken off the flights due to lack of adequate money for advance hotel booking and expenses. According to sources, 15 passengers on work visas for Denmark, Romania, Oman, Bahrain, Russia and Saudi Arabia were offloaded. One passenger was offloaded while traveling to Tanzania on a business visa, three to Bahrain, one to Congo and one to Guinea on a visit visa.
A passenger blacklisted for being a beggar in Saudi Arabia was taken off the plane while going to Bahrain. Besides, 17 Pakistani citizens were deported from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Oman, Emirates, Cameroon, Canada and Tanzania.
