PESHAWAR: Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Moazzam Butt has expressed concern at the missing of four brothers from Hayatabad for the last one year and termed the incident a violation of rights.

Accompanied by the party Member National Assembly Shandana Gulzar, he told a press conference that the four brothers from the prominent Alkozai family were abducted at 2 am from their home by unidentified armed men.

He said the CCTV footage of the incident was available, and the four remained missing to this day. Moazzam Butt said the women of the affected family had approached the court, which summoned the Home Department officials.

He alleged that the identity cards of the four persons were blocked, and the family was pressured to withdraw their petition in exchange for their release. However, he said, even after that the four brothers had not been freed.

Moazzam Butt condemned this act, terming it a blatant violation of Pakistan’s Constitution, principles of justice, Islamic teachings, and international human rights conventions. He said that the abducted brothers were businessmen, and their disappearance had created an atmosphere of fear among the business community.

“Due to the deteriorating law and order situation and a lack of trust in the law enforcement agencies, many traders from Peshawar are either relocating to other cities or moving abroad, he said, demanding that the authorities in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including the police, senior

bureaucracy, and judiciary, take immediate notice of the situation, recover the abducted brothers, improve law and order, and ensure the safety of the business community so that residents can exercise their civil liberties.
