Maid gang-raped by ex-employer, his accomplice
LAHORE:A harrowing incident of sexual assault has emerged from the Kot Lakhpat area, where a former domestic worker was allegedly gang-raped by her ex-employer and his accomplice under the pretext of paying her outstanding salary.
According to the FIR, the victim, identified as (N), had previously worked at suspect Khalid Khan's company but resigned after not receiving her due salary. She had repeatedly demanded the payment of Rs74,000 in arrears, out of which Khalid paid Rs40,000. To settle the remaining Rs34,000, Khalid called her to meet him in Kot Lakhpat. When the victim arrived there, Khalid and his accomplice, Hammed, allegedly forced her into a car at gunpoint and took her to a secluded house.
There, the two men reportedly assaulted her and fled, leaving her in a semi-conscious state. Police have registered a case and launched a manhunt for the suspects.
Motorcycle theft gang busted
Tibbi City police arrested two members of a motorcycle theft gang who were allegedly planning a robbery while hiding behind trees. The suspects, identified as Tahseen alias Bablu and Qasim alias Anda, were apprehended during a raid, a police spokesperson said.
During the operation, police recovered three stolen motorcycles, cash, mobile phones, and illegal weapons from the suspects. Cases have been registered against them under relevant laws. According to police, the gang was involved in multiple incidents of street crime, targeting unsuspecting citizens to snatch motorcycles and cash.
The suspects reportedly attempted to evade arrest but were overpowered by the raiding team. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to stealing motorcycles from various locations in the city, including Lorry Adda and Shahdara. Police have initiated further investigations to identify other members of the gang and trace additional stolen property.
Woman killed in road accident
A woman was killed in a road accident in the Nawankot area after being hit by a Mazda truck on Friday. Police have shifted the body to a morgue and initiated legal proceedings.
According to initial reports, the victim, identified as Jamila, was crossing the road when she was struck by a Mazda truck approaching from behind. She sustained critical injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital for medical treatment. However, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment. Officials confirmed that efforts are underway to identify the driver responsible for the accident.
Three found dead
The bodies of three unidentified individuals were recovered from different areas of the provincial capital on Thursday. Police have shifted the bodies to a morgue and launched efforts to identify them and trace their families.
According to an Edhi Foundation spokesperson, a 65-year-old man, found unconscious in the Shad Bagh area, passed away during treatment at a local hospital. Meanwhile, the body of a 22-year-old man was recovered near the Miani Sahib graveyard in the Mozang area, and a 40-year-old man’s body was discovered near Kot Lakhpat Railway Station. Police officials from the respective stations have completed initial legal formalities and are using fingerprint technology to identify the deceased. While the cause of death in each case remains unclear, authorities suspect natural causes or other possibilities and are awaiting further medical examination.
