Inquiry against Waziristan teachers resented
MIRANSHAH: The teachers recruited on the quota of special persons staged a protest outside the Miranshah Press Club on Wednesday.
Addressing the protest sit-in, All Teachers Association leader Rizwanullah said that teachers from North Waziristan were recruited as per merit and government policy. He said that these teachers had been performing duties for the past five years, which had also been confirmed by the monitoring teams.
Rizwanullah alleged that some elements in the Miranshah education office had established groups and were involved in creating rifts among the community due to which hardworking teachers were suffering.
The teachers’ leader said that teachers, who were performing duty were facing inquiries. He said that the person conducting the inquiry was sitting in the distant district of Karak instead of Miranshah.
“We reject this inquiry and no teacher would appear before inquiry officer in Karak,” he said, adding that if an inquiry was necessary, the education officer in the Miranshah should be tasked with the same. The protesters also announced that a meeting of all teachers’ associations would be held today to devise a future line of action.
